Accumulation वह phase है जहां smart money (institutional investors) chupke-chupke एक asset खरीदते हैं while public still cautious है। यह bull market का starting phase है।
Accumulation Phase का concept
Accumulation technical analysis के Wyckoff theory का core concept है। Charles Dow की Dow Theory में भी accumulation first phase है bull market का। Characteristics: (1) Price range-bound होती है, sideways trading। (2) Volume inconsistent, कभी high कभी low। (3) Negative news के बावजूद price drop नहीं करती - "selling exhausted" का sign। (4) Smart money (institutions, hedge funds) quietly buy कर रहे हैं small amounts में जो price को spike नहीं करे। (5) Retail public bearish या indifferent है। (6) Fundamental situation bad लेकिन bottoming हो रही है।
Accumulation कैसे पहचानें?
Signals: (1) Long period downtrend के बाद consolidation। (2) Support holding despite bearish news। (3) Volume on rallies higher than declines। (4) Higher lows within the range (subtle)। (5) Moving averages flattening out। (6) On-Balance Volume (OBV) diverging positively from price। (7) Commitment of Traders (COT) reports showing commercial buying। Accumulation phase weeks से months तक चल सकती है। Famous examples: 2009 equity market lows, 2020 March COVID crash के बाद। Retail public तब तक bearish थे, smart money accumulating थी।
Accumulation के बाद Markup Phase
Accumulation complete होने पर next phase "markup" है - price उठना शुरू होती है, trend emerging, public slowly joining in। Then "distribution" पर top पर smart money बेचती है retail को। फिर "markdown" (bear market)। यह complete Wyckoff cycle है। भारतीय USD/INR पर accumulation phases में identify करना valuable है - 2013 में 55-60 range के बाद RBI ने hold किया, फिर 2013-18 में USD/INR 60 से 70 तक gradually उठा। Long-term position trading में accumulation identification critical है। distribution, bull-market, wyckoff-method भी पढ़ें।
