Industrial Production क्या है?

Industrial Production (IP) एक economy की manufacturing capacity और output measure करती है। Components: (1) Manufacturing - factories का production, largest component। (2) Mining - natural resources extraction। (3) Utilities - electricity, gas, water। Release: monthly, typically 15-18 तारीख के आसपास। US में Federal Reserve release करती है। India में NSO (National Statistical Office) IIP (Index of Industrial Production) release करती है। IP economic health का backward-looking indicator है।

IP का महत्व

Key significance: (1) Real economic activity - services से अलग, tangible production। (2) Business cycle indicator - recessions में sharp declines, recoveries में bounces। (3) Capacity utilization related measure - factories कितनी full हैं। (4) Employment implications - IP down typically unemployment up। (5) Corporate earnings indicator - industrial companies के लिए। (6) Commodity demand proxy - IP up = more raw materials needed। IP modern service-dominated economies (US, UK) में less weight रखती है manufacturing economies (Germany, China, India) में अधिक।
